HARARE – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has condemned the violent attack that marred the Division One clash between Shabanie Mine FC and Gwanda Pirates, which was abandoned after two people sustained serious injuries.
ZIFA expressed deep regret over the incident, calling it “deeply troubling and completely unacceptable.” An independent investigation has been launched, and immediate security reforms are being implemented to prevent future violence.
The association pledged accountability and reaffirmed its commitment to making football safe and inclusive for all.
