ZIFA Suspends Three Referees Over Poor Performances

HARARE – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has suspended three Premier League match officials for substandard officiating, following a review by the ZIFA Referees Committee.

Referee Lawrence Zimondi was suspended for four matchdays after poor performances in Highlanders vs CAPS United and Ngezi Platinum vs Yadah. Nelson Meke also received a four-match ban for his handling of the Scotland vs Herentals game. Tichaona Mbire was suspended for six matchdays over his performance in the MWOS vs Manica Diamonds fixture.

ZIFA says the suspensions are part of efforts to uphold integrity and professionalism in local football.
