The Sports Writers Association of Zimbabwe (SWAZ) operates as an independent organization affiliated with the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ) and the International Sports Press Association (AIPS)

SWAZ’s primary objectives include fostering unity and understanding in sports coverage across Zimbabwe. It serves as a unifying body for sports journalists and broadcasters, striving to enhance professionalism, advocate for press freedom in sports, and improve the welfare and working conditions of sports media professionals.
